Preparation for the Sacraments
Baptism
Baptisms are arranged with the Parish Priest.
First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion
These
Courses are parish-based and are organised annually. Parents have the
chief responsibility and are expected to enrol their children at the appropriate
time, by contacting the Parish Priest. Our catechists are Catherine Whittaker,
John Booth, Cathy Burleigh and Gill Morley
Confirmation
Confirmation is celebrated in the parishes on a date to be arranged by the Bishop and the Parish Priest. A Confirmation Preparation Course is organised within the Parish in advance of the conferring of the Sacrament by the Bishop. Contact the Parish Priest. The contacts for the Preparation Course are Clare Morgan and John Booth.
Journey in Faith (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)
This is a group of people, Catholic or non-Catholic, who meet as friends to learn more about the Catholic Faith. For non-Catholics this can lead to reception into the Catholic Church and the celebration of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil. Contact the Parish Priest for details.
Marriage
Marriages
are celebrated following an appropriate course of preparation, possibly
through the Diocesan Marriage Preparation programme. Stephen and Eva Spooner
and Tim and Suzanne Baron are our contacts. All arrangements should be
discussed initially with the Parish Priest.
